You don't need a gyro for a front brake. But as the scissor fork does not have disc mount tabs I am not sure why disc brakes are even being suggested anyway?
Plus would also need a new wheel (or hub/spokes and build)
Bit drastic when you could just get a very long reach brake or use a rear brake...
