Evening,
I have been here 5 mins and like it already.
I have a Raleigh Road Ace(531c) from the early 80's (I think) heated off the braze ons and got a 30 quid powder coat and I think it looks peachy creamy.
I need to find that thread with pics in tho dont I, then I can get some constructive critisism .bye

well hi to you all. I'm not from London. In fact I'm a Taffy apple from South Wales. But boy do we have some great single speed mountain tracks. Afan Agoed anyone? I'm known as no-legs on account of having short legs. Its such a bitch finding the right sized frame to fit me.
Afan, pah too much fire road action. Get yourselves a decent MTB Centre ;-) Even Cwm Carn is better. Whites is too short and only has one decent descent, Energy I think and even that is too short and not challenging. W2 is good in the morning with Skyline thrown in after lunch for a good day in the saddle.

Hi there everyone.
I currently live in Plymouth, but spent the last three years in Southampton, and before that I hail from Liverpool.
I ride fixed - currently a Volume Cutter setup, pulled together and fitted together by myself. But soon to be replaced with a complete new setup, as soon as I've sold my old bike + bmx.

You joking of course. They come to Afan from all over the UK. some serious trails for geared mtb's. some of the trails might be useless to the single speeders. You would spend most your time walking.

Unfortunately I'm not. It was my local centre for two years and I find it pretty poor. My local trails are Glentress and Innerleithen, the Tress has become a victim of it's own success and is too commercial but the trails are still quite good. The XC route at Inners is great although the climb up from the carpark with a hangover is a bit rough. Of the Welsh centres it's Penmachno that does it for me, Betys is a bit like the Tress, the Marin is ok but a bit too easy. Get yourself up here and I'll take you round the trail centres and we can rip it up.
I'm not a single speeder, I have friends ;-)

I'm just a bit surprised you found it so poor. Lots of people enjoy the center and find the trails quite demanding. Depends on who you are and your fitness levels I suppose. But aye maybe they should visit other ones aswell instead of visiting the same one.
I'm only half a single speeder myself. I ride a gear road bike with a cycle club. Happy riding my friend. -

Hello,
Got my fixed gear at the start of january and its already been modified quite a bit... new saddle, grips, rear cogs, chain, pedals...... as you can guess I know what I want from the bike. I like to go fast :D at the moment I am running a 48x13 - hills are hard but not unbeatable especially after the weekends trip to the hills down in the kingston area.
Although at the moment I am looking to get a new set of bars, I like to accelerate hard and the current riser bars flex underload! which I can tell you now is horrible... I have been looking to go for some drops and losing the rear brake as its not being used at all and is just excess weight.
Anyway, just thought I would say Hi.

Welcome, skippy2309--but do drop your gearing. You'll be fine for a while, but knee injuries creep up on you without prior warning. Aim for around 70 gear inches for lasting joy or experience pain from pushing a gear that's much too high for you. You may know what you want, but at nearly 100gi, you risk damaging yourself.
Enjoy your riding!

But is the whole room behind the door, or is part of it actually behind the walls? And wouldn't it be more correct to say that the walls are around the room than that the room is behind the door and the walls?

Hello everyone.
Been cycling for ages, had a lovely Raleigh AirLite 300 that I loved for ages, but I've wanted a fixed for ages, so I'm picking up a Langster Steel tomorrow. I'll throw up some pictures when I get it, and more when I start modding it.
I'm from Dublin, but the DFGSS forum is a bit of a mess, so I thought I'd start here.

Take some photos of what you've got, then LFGSS can tell you what you need, in their
humbleopinion. Will post photos when I've finished painting the frame (nothing special but I'm sure it will do the trick), got a few parts on the way, which will hopefully fit together?!?
Spanners at the ready...
I'm out and about quite often m.f. but theres lots of women ride bikes so my chances of meeting a women from pyle by the name of louise are unlikely lmao!!
