I read half of the thread then grew a beard so excuse me if anything i say has already been stated.
I recently acquired a second hand mercian super vigorelli from 1994. It's not the lightest frame, but it is smooth on the road, it rolls with confidence with very little sign of it's flittery track pedigree. After reading about mercians casual service i'm glad that i didn't get it new from them, wouldn't have the patience.
