  • saw brendans gazelle for the first time on friday

    nice machine skoota

it rolled sweetly through the wasteland that is west london

  • cheers d!

  • @zielman

a cheeky question i know and what with the 900 EUR sticker still on the headbadge but what $ did you sell the time trial frame for ?

i may have a cheeky bid on t'bay for it

  • dicki,

The sticker with orig retail even said 950 euro...

I sold it for 235 GBP shipped including NOS Syncros stem (other listing now) and NOS yellow Vredesteins. Imo a very good deal (for buyer)

  • a scruffy AA or AA Super in Germany not advertised quite correctly ? the cable guide look like they are inside the tube

    pictures not very good

It is an AA-Special. The internal routing and engravings on top crown (Gazelle in circle) tells us it is no AA. It is also not the SWB AA-Super model. Defo AA-Special. Slightly odd with this frame is the decal on the top tube. Not that it mentions only "Champion" is odd, as that is normal for models sold on the German market. The use of block-letters is unusual, as that is from an earlier era. Maybe Gazelle ran out * Italic "Champion"* decals when this frame was made?

  • Looks like someone just had a total bargain

    Someone on here?

  • sadly not me

£185 for top quality 531 Professional frame and forks

  • Yes, and pretty much nos

Looks like people went really broke into the new year. Okay, weather isn't really inviting also.

    Spring coming!

some more detailed info on this frame from five nine climbers website aka zieleman

  • Zieleman or anyone. Can you tell me if the style of decals on the 731os are readily available.
I recently bought a NOS Gazelle Formula Trim but it has got a dodgy 90s white and cherise fade paint scheme so a respray would be good if I can source new decals.
    Thanks

  • i would check on ebay
there are a lot of gazelle decals if you search .co.uk and under gazelle

the decals look similar to the champion mondial frames well the gazelle stickers at least

  • I have already been down that toepath.

There seems to be old skool 70s and very modern available on ebay but not the early 90s era which is what I need.

  • i like that gazelle uses the same stickers and badges for their whole range of bikes, from the cheapest to the most expensive ones

    dicki,

A lot of content on there is mine, but I am not the man behind Gazelle Pages. Gazelle Pages is from Jan. Jan is originally from Denmark and moved to Washintion state years ago. Jan's Gazelles you find under "Our Gazelle Bikes''. The AA frame in team Vredestein paint he got through me.

The bike under the link you posted is not the same as the one listed on eBay. The one on Gazelle Pages has Poppe & Pothoff Noblex stainless steel tubing for fork and stays.

Why would you repaint a NOS frame? Is it that ugly?

Anyway, the decals below are present on a late 70s AA frame that has been resprayed at some point, so I would think that they are available. I have been told the aqua was resprayed at Gazelle ...so try Gazelle? I am sorry, I do not know of another address. Maybe there is, but I do not know it.

Here a Formula I had my hands on while ago. In this case the Hybrid edition. Went to a kind chap in Germany >>>

  • Why would you repaint a NOS frame? Is it that ugly?

Well not exactly but the paint is oddly very thin in places so I am anticipating rust shortly and making contigency plans for a repaint.

Thanks anyway I will try the factory

I hope they speak English - my Dutch is non existent

  • This is utterly gorg, what do people reckon it might go for price-wise?

  • Yeah beautiful frame, and Reynolds 731 is a lovely tubeset, so stiff (for steel), doesn't have a dead feeling, very responsive.

    very nice 731 OS tubing

Zeileman / dicki / others, what do you reckon this frame might fetch on ebay? Just curious like. Thanks.

  • its a high end frame 200 - 300 GBP ?? i am a bit of a pesimist though so mid 200's is a possibility

there is a reserve though ? that could throw a spanner into the works and the guy will keep re listing it till he gets the price he wants

at the experts please feel free to laugh at my estimates i can't say i've seen one of these for sale before ... maybe once

  • Lately there have been a lot of nice Gazelle frames on ebay, or is that just me?
A lot of them were sold sub €200.

That track bike is also for sale on marktplaats with a €200 bid already placed.

  • The one with Noblex tubing in forks went for almost 1600 dollar last year. That was a bit steep. This frame doesn't have the Noblex, imo the paint is a quite a lot a matter of taste, it is dark and winter outside and people tend to be broke atm. It is though to say.
