spot on pifko - hadn't seen that one - thanks!
crofty am after a track style ends or forward facing without a hanger - not keen on a conversion. Bit more background info in that i am after a bike to keep for life for l'eroica been the last 2 times on two different vintage bikes and this time i want to ride it fixed or singlespeed on an authentic bike as possible
thanks!
tom
p.s i doubt i will find anything perfect - what i really want is a jack taylor fixed tourer but i know they are like rocking horse manure

Tilover,
this is a 1978 Claud Butler and it does have a gear hangar.. i have somewhere all the SunTour / Weinman clobber to go on it and SR bars and stem. But i've just offered the frame and forks to another " wanted " ad.... will keep you posted.
Crofty.

nice bike, crofty! gives me some ideas... i've got a frame by jack kirk from about the same era, but haven't really had a clue about what sort of stuff i need to get, so this is really helpful to give me some ideas.
i shall put it in another thread sometime (maybe the current projects one, although i was kinda thinking of a specific jack kirk one, to see if i could try to find out more about the frame and builder).

Would 57cm really be too small? Shame…
Nice Old Claude Butler track/road/pathThis pretty Woodrup is about your size, no?
And this old Condor has a short-ish ST, but a 57.5 TT which might do the job…
-

thanks matey - i could pic up a nice geared frame i think but ideal after a singlespeed/fixed/fixed 3 speed/ something else unusual without a derailleur
the hobbs is great! -

He is in london though so that could be tricky if your up north? otherwise his workshop is in archway and packed full of frames.
edit: having said that he has an ebay shop and sells many frames, so im sure he would be happy to post a frame.
