Greek love: Where allowed, a free man was usually entitled to fall in love with a boy, proclaim it publicly, and court him as long as the boy in question manifested the traits prerequisite to a pederastic relationship: he had to be kalos (καλός) handsome) agathos (αγαθός) (good, brave, just, and modest).
