The first part is true, the second part is not.

To avoid having to censor almost all conversations (we do swear a lot), and to avoid having to do such things as persuade ride organisers to go and get criminal record checks, etc... we state a clear policy of not including minors and only allow mid-teens to be present (declare their age) to ensure that they don't have to lie (which would prevent the community from knowing and therefore defending their privacy and position).

Put like that I'm happy to say that it should indeed be closed. I have no objection with anything being said providing it maintains some kind of decency standard. I haven't been in this thread for ages but it does appear that the latter pages no longer possess pictures of even an arguable artistic merit, it really is nothing more than horrific wank fodder now.
