Just because you've got away with it, doesn't mean it's right I'm afraid.
You can weaken alloy 26mm road bars by clamping them in 25.4 stems,especially Ahead versions as they pinch in two places. If you really must do it, quills would be better as they open out more evenly.
So much crap gets talked on this forum.
