Light switch built into handlebars

  • Hey
This looks uncanny. Anyone done anything like this? I want to make this work on my bike.

  • why?

  • I dont like the idea of having to drill a hole in the bars for the wire to pass through, as it would cause a fatigue point. Wouldnt like the bars to give way on a steep uphill ride.

  • (t)OOL.

I can't decide if this is amazing or retarded.

But I now want to experiment with stuffing rechargeable batteries down my handlebars...

One would of course need to find the right light clusters you could chop up / mount in some way... Hmmm..

  • I have a clapper installed.

    I applaud you.

  • I have a clapper installed.

Playing cards in the spokes using a clothes peg? That's the new black.

  • I went the whole hog on mine. to think this was once a gitane!

  • I think it looks cool, but wall + leaning bike = smashed switch.

I'd say a dynamo light would fit best as you can get all sorts of mounts for them.

If you've got a quill stem there are these little light bracket things similar to the cable holder on front canti brakes.

I have one of those in my house , great invention.
    Thanks for constructive sarcasm.

I guess i have too much time on my hands.

Add a kickstand and we are truly building up an amazing ride.

  • I have a clapper installed.

Theres a cream for this too...

  • Kickstands are this years deep Vs
    just you watch

then its all about the lazers

  • Searching Zentradi bicycle got me this:

No lasers, no rockets, no kickstands.
    D-lock bracket though.

  • I can't tell whether you want the practicality of a bar mounted light switch or just think the switch bar end plug looks cool, which I'd agree with.

On the practical side of things, Exposure do a remote switch for their lights which is designed for mounting on the bars or hoods within easy reach of your hands.

    • loads

My winter bike is a collection of cheap shite components, on a cheap frame. That is all except the DA barend shifters......., which take a beating every time the bike topples :(

  • Why don't you fit indicators as well?
