One of the things that annoy me (a little) is the effect that the reduced sponsorship in pro cycling is having on women's pro cycling. Male teams seem to be just about scraping by, but women's teams are really struggling. Nicole Cooke's team had to fold last year and that was one of the reasons why she had a (by her standards) poor season. Then she tried to sign with the team that was Nürnberger Versicherungen, but the announced sponsor (Skyter Shipping) turned out to be in financial trouble, so that fell apart. She's now apparently still teamless. I think the impact on women's pro cycling is a little-noticed side effect of all the doping scandals.
