yes, they will work together. Its recommended that you use the same pitch throughout your chainset i.e chainring, sprocket, chain although if your chainring and sprocket are 3/32 they will work with a 1/8 chain, but not the otherway round

in my experience, 1/8" chain on a 3/32" sprocket will tend to jump off and be a general pain in the arse. 1/8" sprocket ftw.
