  • I have now not smoked cigarettes since August last year and am feeling really good on it.

In the past I have gotten this far and further. The longest period was for over 18 months.

In the past I have always started smoking again because I have convinced myself that I am a 'non smoker' or an 'ex smoker'. I now realise that those are false thoughts that cause me to believe that I can have a cheeky one without any ill effects. Simply not true.

I am convinced that I am a smoker and that I will be for all of my life. I am simply now a smoker that doesn't smoke. Hopefully be remembering this, I won't end up back on the sports sticks.

Good luck and remember that the cravings do pass. I used a mantra of "this too will pass" whenever I wanted a fag. I also found that change of scene , ideally a holiday, is a great way of escaping from your usual triggers.
