So, I forgot my SIA license today. When I turned up to work, I was swiftly informed by my superviser that as a security officer, if I get caught working without my license I face a rather crippling five figure fine, and if I'm not back on duty with my license by 9am he will file for disaplinary action (he's a cunt).
So I sprinted the 7 miles back home, in rush hour, picked up my license, sprinted all the way back again, no problems at all. When pulling into the car park of my building, you have to go through two large (very heavy) metal gates. They are normally left ajar so I can just nip through the gap without opening them.
Feeling rather satisfied at my succesfully speedy navigation of London (I don't normally cycle in rush hour), I then proceeded to forget about the CrAzY toe overlap of my new frame, and cycled straight into one of the big gates, which didn't budge an inch (they FUCKING heavy).
I am now missing a chunk of my finger.
I also ripped a hole in my new bar tape which I painstakingly applied last night.
And my superviser (also a cyclist) just happened to be watching that exact camera at that exact moment on CCTV.
He then insisted that we watch it back in super-slow motion and explain to him just how I managed to do that. Fuck me sideways.
