Nitto Noodle Alternative?

Posted on
  • Hi Folks,

I wanted to swap out my Randonneur bars (25.4 clamp) for a set of noodles but have discovered that they are 26mm only!

Any suggestions on an alternative that would fit a 25.4 clamp?

  • any good?

  • Oh, Murtle...

  • The noodles sweep backwards, right? Then why not try bending your randonneurs?

Or alternatively, buy the Nittos and you can get something to do just what you need, called an 'inverse shim', here

  • Why do you want to swap the Randos - they are awesome bars? Doubt you will find an alternative to Noodles with a 25.4 clamp, since Nitto are pretty much the only company that make decent road bars with a 25.4 clamp, let alone ones that are non-standard shapes. If you are dead set on the Noodles then it might be new stem time.

  • The randos are approx 39cm on the tops which is uncomfortably narrow when climbing and on long rides.

I prefer the traditional racing shape to the noodles rather than the flared touring shape for the randos.

I just checked on ebay and there are some old bars with 25.4 diameters which I might pick up and try.
