I have sold a few things, bought a few things and tried to sell and buy things unsuccessfully...and on occasion made donations...part of 'putting something back'.....in a month or so time will be putting a frame up for sale and intending to say up front that 2% of the sale...if it is sold will go to the forum...not much perhaps but if everyone did similar....it would build up and become a significant sum....just a thought.....Making it a rule that anyone eg Highlandpro who is a significant seller on the forum should contribute a fixed % to the forum.....the counter argument is that such a move will deter the Highlandpros of the world adverising stuff on the forum and as a consequence people look out on good stuff.....but what alternative do sellers have?.....Could use similar forums like cycle chat....but success rates are low?....To advertise on CTC website you probably need to be a member and that is a cost... a worthwile cost [like Skully, I am a member too]...so any such member ship would be like a donation to forum funds.....alternatively....Ebay...and we know how expensive the bay is...so perhaps the big sellers and I am sure many sellers give voluntarily without a fuss on fanfare...should be compelled to contribute and if we lose their wares...so be it....they perhaps need the forum more than forum needs them...solidarity is needed here....perhaps like in the Labour movement the concept of 'Unity is Strength' sounds sensible but it has rarely happened as indivual groups are more concerned with what they can get and 'unity can go hang!'.......My £0.2....for what its worth.....We are a community or we are not...which is going to be?.....Let the people pay their taxes!!

no, that definitely felt like 20p rather than a 2p view.

The expression is 0.02, as was his promised commission to the forum on his upcoming sale

yes but 0.2 of 1 pound = 20 pence.
no?i felt that his typo actually, oh forget it.

You must remember that i lived before 15 February 1971...an iron gate....the date of decimalisation....so my £0.02 dates back to 1956 [year of my birth.....which would be the equivalent of £0.2 today.or perhaps more..so a question of relative value changing over time.....I could discuss the dollar [*British *one] but won't.

yes my typo...corrected...but as mentioned elsewhere, my words reflect £0.2 better than £0.02
