and just so i understand: is the belt made of rubber?
all cars run a belt drive for the fan/radiator cooler. that will put in far more many miles than some guy on a bike.
they are not totally made of rubber, they're usually cloth embeded.
they are far lighter than a steel chain.
there is very little stretch.
