So I've been looking into headsets as I've decided while I'm getting my frame resprayed I might as well upgrade the headset at the same time. It has to be black, 1" and 24TPI (and have a stack height that works, obviously, but most do).
I seem to have narrowed it down to the Chris King Gripnut:
Or the Cane Creek Classic 100:
Seem to need to buy both from the States (unless anyone knows anywhere over here that sells them?) so I'm looking at £70 delivered for the Cane Creek and £77 for the Chris King.
The Classic 100 apparently uses the same internal parts as the top of the range 110 headset, it just isn't polished up as much on the outside (and is available threaded). I prefer how it looks too so I'm thinking of going for that one at the moment - have found a few people on the internetz saying the 110 is as good if not slightly better than a Chris King, but I know Chris Kings are thought of as the dogs wotsits and the Phils of the headset world.
Any thoughts? Has anyone experience of either? Know of a UK source?
