  • I know about the tools, I just don't have the skillz - maybe I should clarify. What I'm actually after is someone to sort it out for me and I will pay them in cake.

  • aren't all video editors tools?

(try the veal, i'm here all week)

  • PM tynan? He knows video. Just mention Jesus to him and I'm sure he could at least suggest some hymns editing tools.

Jesus, who said Jesus, I haven't seen that pesky old bastard mentioned on here for a while.

Right I need someone who knows how to edit a video, to do something with the somewhat shaky in places video I filmed of the ride. Its currently in mp4 format and about 780mb. I dunno how much of it is usable and whether any image stabilisation is possible post filming. PM me if you can help - I know nothing of video editing.

Clefty my love [imagine the voice of Claire Rayner]

You can stabilize shaky footage post filming fairly easily and fairly automatically.

You will get better results if the shutter speed was high(-ish) when you shot it.

  • am waiting for an upgrade of imovie to download as that apparently has image stabilisation, I dont think there is even a shutter speed option on the camera I was using sadly.
are there easier things to use than imovie? I sincerely hope so I also think I may have to steal MOC's 22inch screens to do this, than attempt it on a 13" macbook and a trackpad..

Apparently the iMovie IS plug-in is pretty good, not used it myself.

I dont think there is even a shutter speed option on the camera I was using sadly.

If it was all on automatic - and it was a bright-ish day then the shutter speed should be high enough. Indoors or at night and the shutter speed would probably be 1/25th - 1/30th (depending on whether your camera is shooting NTSC or PAL).

For editing iMovie is very straightforward, it really is a case of dragging the bits of footage you want into the right order.

For image stabilization - iStabilize is pretty much fully automatic and very quick.
