We all did. The difference is - we learnt from it (mainly to not do it again).
Now you can see the consequences of stupid actions on YouTube and you don't need to try for yourself. Yet, there are still people who are willing to outdo other idiots while filming themselves with their mobiles to gain instant fame online. -

@EEI: I take your point. Though I'd like to see statistics to show that more, say, under 16s are getting injured now than 20 years ago. And I say again if a 14 yr old boy dies like this, however foolish or culpable he may have been, it is not something to be flippant or superior about, that's all.

I didn't want to pass any kind of judgement in the above case. It was more an observation of the current cultural shift as a whole.
