The stock rings on both the silver and black ones are really a darkish grey, although they tend to show darker on the silver and lighter on the black in studio product shots due to the way they light them. The black only seemed to last for one season when they first launched (as Truvativ), so I'm guessing the silver must have been a much bigger seller.
