Wanted: Cheap small road bike or ss conversion

I am looking for a cheap road bike for a friend of mine. she is app. 5.5" and anything between 49cm and 53 (or in that region) should be ok. colour, etc doesn't matter, bikes with little faults are also fine.

But it must be really cheap (up to £50 if the bike is really nice a little more would be ok as well) as she just moved to london and wants to see if shes comfy cycling over here before more dorrar is invested.

I dont think u'll be able to get wot ur looking for, for that price. Single speeds part are becoming more expensive as suddenly everyone in England wants to look like a courier on a s/s bike.
Plus couriering is going downhill at the minute so everyone on circuit that normally have spare stuff dont and are strapped for cash.

A single speed wheel alone from a shop, is like £80 at the cheapest. If u look on here theres people selling back wheels for £50 and thats with no tube or no tyre.
You could get a rear wheel, then get the hub and sprocket to fit, but thats gonna be more than 50 aswell.

At the cheapest ur looking at £150 for a bike unless ur really lucky. Maybe try another post, not putting £50, or any price at all, u might get more interest that way.

The post says road bike or single speed. old raleighs or whatever are available for that price. to single speed it you buy a dicta freewheel for £8 and take of some bits and be done with it, I am not looking for a ss conversion with track wheels and the lot.

I would also take on an easy project, a town bike etc. as i said.
