new2fix, I can't be bothered reading back how this all started, but the forum has a fairly peculiar sense of humour which can be hard to get for some people when they're new. As a good rule of thumb, try not to insult people, especially when you've only just signed up (although, as I said, I don't know if that was what happened initially), and especially try not to 'apologise' and then revert to insulting people, as it makes your earlier apology seem hollow.
The best idea is just to go to drinks (as per Dammit's suggestion) and introduce yourself and own up that you've been a bit of a prat on a thread. No-one's a monster on here, and if people see you outside of a forum thread on a computer, they might well conclude that you're quite an interesting and likeable person to have around. So just chance it and venture out into the real world--this forum is quite unusual in that a lot of people know each other, it's a great community, and people help each other out a lot. I look forward to meeting you sometime.
