• for my 18th my folks brought me a book called 'caring for elderly parents'
they thought it was really funny, i wasn't very impressed.
not as bad as when my old man brought a kettle to give to my mum as a christmas present (old kettle had broken the week before) the look on her face was priceless.

  • chris crash
silasmellor
tommid When I was 22 my gran sent me a balaclava (not sure that is spelt right)... She said it was for my paper round (I stopped doing a paper round at 15!).. It wasnt just any ordinary balaclava though it was a full on three hole IRA/80's terrorist style one... Oh and my Birthdays in May so not a massive ammount of use for it at that time of year...

end of terror season is it?
yes, the IRA ran gurrella missions almost exclusively in the winter, longer night give you more time to do your thing, and people are less likely to be just hanging about in the cold.
Winter means big coats loads of opportunity to hide guns and bombs and rocket launchers and stuff, oh and MTBs to throw at peoples heads...

  • And topically (see above photos), on the theme of wacky presents/gifts to give someone, how about a brick?

They can still be used, with locked network probably, but they are funny. Retrobricks-Mobile phones.

The first mobile I ever had was the One2One M150, back in 1993,. now worth 199.99GBP!!
