FYI - I've always found the PCO number much easier to remember than the licence plate. also (when shit like this has happened to me) i've tried to strike up a conversation with the passenger to use them as a witness. shouting "get me the cab number" through the window tends to draw them in from being a bystander to being involved in the actual incident.
