i got a reply from my mp - jim fitzpatrick.

he says he cannot sign it because he is minister. maybe it is some kinda protocol ?

Yes, but it's still good to draw his attention to it.

but he reassures he is very active on road safety for cyclists etc. (he tells me he cycles)

Keep writing to him. He could always do more.

he is looking into hot spots at mile end and whitechapel. (i know there have been 'lorry deaths' at these two locations).

and do i know of any other hotspots ?

'Hotspots' is a fairly simple notion that generally doesn't capture how and where things need to be done. Things usually have to get worse before they get better by someone addressing 'hotspots'. As for locations, it's best to ask the Wheelers.
