Buy a cheap lock and your bike will be stolen.
-
• #3
well not really, you have to lock your bike with it and leave it alone first....it would suck though if every time you bought a cheap lock your bike disappeared...thanks for that contribution though :)

True indeed....did see one one here with one of the other kryptonite which had been chopped...have basically resigned myself to the fact that if they want to take it and have an angle grinder I am screwed....
That is a great price on the NY fhag lock though, thanks!

Holy Shit...this looks like a joke at first

For that price I expect it to vaporise the traffic in front :) -

Locks that work
This list will not include rope locks, as they are useless. Primarily this will list shackle locks with a bar diameter of at least 16mm*, 18mm being preferable if choosing between either.
Other, lock types (armoured cables, and heavy chains) will be listed, but in a different section.
There will be no compromise based on weight or price. Only the best will do.
Summer is coming, and tea-leaves are ready. Whether you own a Pinarello, or a SE Lager, you'll want to keep it.
- = The exception to this is Abus' specially hardened 13mm steel, which has survived testing that some 16mm steel U-locks failed.

ya, you really didn't look through that thread if you didn't see the fifteen pound grp.

if its less than £100 then a cheap one will provide a deterrent, but i presume if you only had £100 to spend then you would struggle to replace it...
I felt the £25 i paid for my kryptonite mini d was excellent value for money, its highly portable, i feel confident that my bike is relatively secure when i pop into Waitrose to pick up some shopping, but if that's too much for you then buy something cheaper.

Will have a look, though the 13mm (which a quick google says it is) is frowned upon in general....

Did indeed hear tell of that legendary thing that is found in the realm of peckham or some similarly frightening land of sin....just a bit lazy to get my ass out there from North West

I was worried about it being useful for locking to standard racks (it is mini afterall)....do you have any trouble or is that never a problem and I just made it up??

i got a good 'master' lock from chainreaction, its gold secure.
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=39786
and a knog skink rear for £15 on ebay.
Hey guys,
Just got a new steed and getting worried about it up near Northwick Park, so want to get a new lock and also want to get a new set of lights (foggy morning commute).
Dont want to spend the world since I spent under 100 on the bike, but was wondering if anyone had come across any attractive combo deals or had anything going cheap...??
Have been looking through 'Locks that work' thread for ages, so dont bother posting that please ;)
Thanks in advance!
