On the subject of rear lights, I swear by these

Basically they call themselves superflash, come with the aaa's and are the best rear light I've ever used and at less than a tenner at the moment are a total bargain. 3 little flashing leds in sequence then a big f/o pulse from the main er, 'superflash'
You definitely won't be disappointed, they're one of those products that you pray they don't replace in the new seasons line etc.
