Just resuscitating this thread again - can anyone sort me out with an invitation code for the NYC fixed forum? Eternal gratitude, etc....
-
• #54
I tried in vain to get an invite before I went over in Nov.
Had a great trip - hired a nice road bike from NYC Velo (2nd Av & 4th St) for a reasonable $.
Try continuum cycles for a NYC forum invite - great shop (a bit like blb) and definitely on the forum - were pretty helpful

Sorry, also do not have an invite but can echo Velo for rentals, along with Bicycle Habitat (Lafayette & Spring) and Sid's (E 34th & 2nd or W 19th & 7th).

Has anyone got an invitation code for NYC Fixed Gear?
I tried to get one in Nov - hard to come by.
They seem to be a bit more paranoid than LFGSS.
Try mailing a shop like continuum the guys there are involved.

wow trying to find the code for NY Fixed gear is annoying.

Didn't really know where to put this but thought maybe there might someone on here that can get to Annapolis for this rather interesting sounding event:
Hi all:
Velo Orange is holding a garage sale Saturday November 6th from 9 to 1pm. Rain or Shine. Our address is:
1819 George Ave
Annapolis MD 21401
A google maps link via tiy url:
http://tinyurl.com/2dyqrwkWe're selling sample parts that were displayed at Interbike and in our showroom; they lack packaging or show some shop wear, but are almost like new. There are some returns that we can't sell as new, a bunch of prototypes, a few scratched frames, some discontinued parts, and stuff that's been used on test bikes. All-in-all there are hundreds of items. We want to blow them all out in one day!
We'll also have frames, and bikes, and parts that our staff members want to sell from their personal stashes. A lot of this is NOS, old stuff, shop worn, daily rider type parts and accessories.
More info is here:
http://velo-orange.blogspot.com/2010/10/first-annual-vo-yard-sale.htmlPlease note- this is an IRL type sale. You have to be present to win. No online transactions, no shipping, no holding of stuff, no rainchecks, no back orders. Once it's gone it's gone.

Fond memories from the early '90s of a room in the Carlton Arms painted like the inside of a submarine - the bathroom was painted like the sea and there was a mermaid in the bath!
Hotel 17 is better tho.
