Join tricitybendix and myself for LFGSS's first sleepover ride on Saturday 13th to Sunday 14th of March.
We'll be riding from London to Blackberry Wood, a small campsite about 8 miles north east of Brighton. The campsite has 20 pitches based in woodland glades, which have their own fire pits for barbecues or bonfires.
It's about 60 rolling miles each way through the scenic Kent countryside and South Downs. Route/timing details are to be finalised but we'll probably be leaving Grobag Towers at about 10am, with a pick-up point somewhere in south London, and leaving Blackberry wood by 10am the next morning.
The campsite is pretty popular so we want to book the pitches within the next week to make sure all goes to plan... so if you want to come, please put your name down on the list by Wednesday 20th January. We'll go ahead and book the pitches after that, and we have to pay a 50% deposit to secure the bookings, so please only put your name down if you are sure you can make the date and you have access to a tent and a way of carrying it on your bike. There's no limit on how many people you can have in a tent, but the site reckons tents bigger than 5m x 3m are unsuitable.
According to the booking calendar they have 19 pitches available on the day right now... if 15 tent co-ordinators put their names down for pitches before the 20th we'll go ahead and book to be on the safe side. If you want to come but don't have a tent, or have a tent but get lonely, you can post for a tentmate on this thread.
The cost for the campsite is £5 per tent plus £5 per person and the site has showers, toilets and wifi. There's also an on-site shop selling logs and BBQ coals.
You will need: tent or a friend with tentspace, sleeping bag, bike. Gears are welcome, though fixed is more fun.
