I can understand the helmet though, as the video a few posts above us show that a cock-up can happen, i.e. kids throwing object at them to try and get them a nice facepalm.

Helmet may seemed a bit far-fetched for civilians (as well as cyclists) but not for police officer, at least that what I make of it.

The security guards where I work patrol the site using Segways. They look like complete and utter tits.
