• saturday/sunday is to be very cold, i'd love to come along, but i can't see myself enjoying the blizzards.
Isn't it wize to defer the ride to a later date ?

Why don't you organise your own ride then?
Could be called, the 'too scared to go out in the cold ride' or something.

It should be 0 degrees at 12 tonight.
I am routing around the most potentially dangerous bit.

**If you can't handle the cold, or your bike stay home. **
I think it will be a unique experience doing this ride in these conditions but in perspective, even though we've got Siberian winds this isn't fucking Moscow.

    Htfu or stfu London indeed.

No need for that "fuck you" attitude MA3K because i'm just thinking from the point if someone really hurts themselves due to the cold conditions. With that many people it could be a real handful.

I'm not doing the ride because i don't like riding in the freezing cold, if i had to i would, but i don't. So there you are.

The ride date was set, this is the time I have free and I thought it would be fun to experience that ride in the snow.
Moving dates around messes everything up.

People make their own decisions on whether or not to come, as you did, the responsibility for their safety and comfort lays squarely at their own feet.

Last bridges somebody got pedal-strike on a perfectly dry corner and busted themselves up, I waited for the ambulance with them and then caught up with the bunch.
Tonight, save for one puncture, passed without incident.

The comment stands, if you can't handle the cold or your bike(specifically in these conditions was the subtext), stay home.
Don't project your expectations and limitations onto others.

As I'd seen from the past few days when I'd been out riding, except for a few back streets all this talk about iced-up roads was overblown. The only bit I was unsure about was between Barnes Bridge and Hammersmith, so we skipped it. No big deal.
In the end there was a bit of ice on the paths and on the roads margins, nothing that stopped a great ride.

42 started the ride, 32 finished it as people found the exit closest to their homes.

It felt like one of the early forum rides as everyone who was there seemed more interested in having a chat and actually riding together than seeing who could pull the longest trackslide or run the most pointless red light and pose and tart about on their 'fixies'.

Nice to catch up with a few people I haven't seen in a while, cheers to all who came.
