this actually gives you a small certificate, there's one starting on Tuesday but I can't commit to it yet, have to wait until April now I think.
after that I want to go to the TWI centre near Cambride where they teach you basically what you want to learn. It's £225 per day and you get no certificate, just a reference from the TWI saying what you learned.

He said for TIG welding if you want to go far you need ASME class 1 certification, but experience is needed for this, you can;t just do 2 weeks training and get the ticket. The guy on the phone said experience is what really counts in welding, fairly unusual in this age. The problem is getting your foot in the door.
