I'm in a similar position, I trained to do something outdoors, now I can't because of medical problem. Now I'm looking at doing an apprenticeship in something, although I will be 25 in September so I will have to go for an 'adult apprenticeship' which the government just decided to cut funding for. Thanks, Gordon.
I considered doing one of those plumbing/electrical intensive courses, but they are not recognised as useful by a lot of companies, the people I spoke to on the phone and in forums said the college/apprenticeship route was the best
I'm now really looking at welding, not just because it will come in useful for when I want to build my own frames one day :)
