You all join a party before you join a game. Get onto the xbox live menu and then go onto your friends and press 'Invite to party & game' over their name. If they like you they'll join your party and then you can join a LIVE game together.

That was a bit vague but hope it helps.

I've played Half Life 2 recently and to be honest, it doesn't look dated, character model and animation still look fantastic, especially episode 2.

I got it all from here;

they even got 'original' story of what Half Life 2 suppose to be like before the final version, was suppose to set in an American city (how typical) dark sky, etc. like the film Dark City, but thank fuck they chosen Bulgaria instead.

in the 'original' storyline, the Borealis is included, but was removed later;

The original Half life was a ground breaking game (which got me into video games) and half-life 2 surpassed that IMO
