  • Right I just started playing hardcore and it's absolutely amazing. Anybody fancy some HC S&D? GT: spiderlove

  • Might well have to man up and buy one of these game console devices. Was playing MW2 on my brothers Xbox over christmas and bloody hell it's impressive. Given my limited experience in the field I think I got runny, silent, stabby down to a tee.

  • Do it, MW2 is a great game, if a little short on campaign. But then there are spec ops, some of them are obscenely difficult, and some are great fun.
I've not even touched multiplayer yet, and I've had it sonce xmas.

  • Yep - played the spec ops - got all the stars from the first batch, didn't attempt any from any others. Completed the campaign on Veteran and got to level 43 on Multiplayer.

When I came back to London for the first couple of nights I was literally dreaming of buzzkills, streaks and AC130s...

  • Got Left 4 Dead 2. Ace.

    Was playing co-op Spec Ops last night, on veteran. 'KIN TOUGH. Did three of them;

    1. Clearing out the Favela. Kept getting mauled, but stick together, revive regularly, listen for dogs and set claymores, and we did it.

    2. The AC130 gauntlet. Did it first time but my heart was in my mouth. Pegging it for cover, hearing a load of baddies near, panicking and wondering where your cover is, then WHOOOOOSH BANG!!!! Hellfire rains down around you and you make haste for the next building.

    3. The petrol station/burger bar one. Waves of baddies on two fronts. Literally just hole up in the restaurant and hide. Thermal scope when they're at distance then grenade launcher if they break cover, but don't let them get in your building!

    WHAT A GAME

  • Also, playing Hardcore in multiplayer. Love it, gets rid of all the HUD bollocks and the games are quieter as there's more stalking involved.

CYOA, you sound like a pro, and you don't even own the game? Good work.

Ta (learned my trade playing Doom 95 - but I'm sure I couldn't handle without a HUD - I need those cross hairs. Being on the receiving end of an EMP strike while using Holographic sights has taught me this :)

I did this one solo on veteran, took me ages. I just kept getting rushed by dogs, (they come at you from both sides if they can). The best tactic I found was to go through slowly clearing out enemies (use the heartbeat sensor so you know when an area is clear), but as soon as you hear dogs, RUN. turn around and get back to the start area that should be mostly clear, get yourself into a corner and let rex and rufus come at you.

Played though this last night, raining death from above never gets old :)

The one with BCR's, predator drones, and helicopters too? Use the turrets, they make life a lot easier for you. But yes, you need lots of cover! Claymores by the doors and don't sit staring at a doorway. Flashbangs normally announce they are close so helps not to be blinded.

We couldn't get past Snatch and Grab last night, have to try that one again soon! Armour Peircing (15 juggernaughts on an oil rig) is much easier than it should be. Did it solo on vet last night, 3rd attempt.

  • Nah it was the one where you're in the middle building, with basic weapons. Did the other one solo, but not on veteran. Unlocked the Delta missions so am looking forward to hooking up again and taking them on. I loved the oil rig in campaign but wish it continued in the vein of sneaky-sneaky rather than the uncouth firefights it turns into after the initial jump-out-the-water-and-knife-the-baddy promise.

  • I got a 34 killstreak the other day, check me out.

Ah, I've not spent too long on that one. The crashed heli gives great cover on that map.
I do enjoy the stealthy missions, nothing quite like getting through a whole level unseen. Loved the spec ops one where you have to evade the snipers and guards. Can't remember what it's called, based on the CoD4 map... Such a bitch when they see you from a mile off and before you know it youre dead!

  • Played loads of MW2 over Christmas, bought it when it first came out but hadn't played it. Spec Ops is where its at, although beastman hard even at lower levels of difficulty, and its great fun as a split-screen multiplayer! Favourites have definitely been the snowmobile TTs and the stealthy sniping mission
