Cheap Colnagos and their non-replaceable hangers.. expensive. Who's the UK Colnago importer?
-
• #3
you should be able to get something similar over here

A decent LBS should be able to put in a sleeve that can then be threaded to allow you to refit the derailleur. Dropouts can also be bent backwards using an alignment tool. You don't want to do it too often but it should cope with being bent back.
Whereabouts are you based?

I'd take it to Sigma Sport in Kingston then. Dan, the workshop manager, fixed a bent hanger on a carbon frame of mine a couple of years back. It's been fine since.

easy enough to do yourself.

A good dealer can do that for you for relatively low cost (considering that the frame is worth it).
No need for brazing or welding.
Can be done fro all steel, alu or carbon frames without replaceable derailleur hanger, as long a the droput is not cracked and it's not bent too much (steel is very forgiving, alu and carbon not).Dealer should have a reamer of the correct size and a threaded metal piece, that will be glued in place.
Dill dropout to remove old threads
Ream drilled hole to make correct diameter
Glue and place threaded insert
Check / correct alignment with dropout / rear derailleur hanger alignment tools

Thanks, would you know roughly how much?

It depends how long it takes. Dan fixed mine whilst I waited so I doubt it'll be uber expensive.

in my professional opinion the frame is beyond saving, and as a registered disposer of carbon, i am happy to take it off your hands!!!

hahaha
Murts, just coz you got a ball and chain ;)
same goes for you Vedders
Tried to change gear while out of the saddle going uphill and damaged the derailleur hanger. The derailleur just popped out - looks like the dropout is bent inwards and the hanger stripped the thread. Would anyone know if it's a simple replacement on Colnago C40 and who to take the bike to ... Thanks ;-((
