However I deny the spineless accusation. I told my girlfriend that if she was happy with him I would not interfere. When it transpired that she wasn't and that he was a selfish overbearing tosser I informed him that his days were numbered and I was stealing his girlfriend off him. And there was the fact that she lived with me while he was a couple of hundred miles away. We weren't exactly hiding it.
