Where can I buy Polo Balls?

  • Hey

I've done lots of searching but with no luck.

I'm in Ireland where hardcourt polo has just started to kick off again. Big thanks to Kropa

I'm new to it and have built a mallet but am looking to get some polo balls so I can practice a bit and not be sponging off others all the time.

Can anyone tell me wheres a good spot to get balls from, looking at mail order.
Or If some one has loads in London that they'd like rid of I'm happy to paypal either.

Thanks and Apologies if I've missed a thread with all the answers

  • ^^ best username ever!

  • Cheers M A X :)

Thanks hurricanejosh I asked those guys about posting to Ireland a while back with no reply.

I'l give them another try after the holidays

  • i found these, not sure what they are like anyone tried them?

    http://demonxtreme.com/product.php?xProd=487

  • from the two links you have in this thread, take the cheapes ones, neither of them is good, it is difficult to get good balls here in the UK, both of them are good to star with but nothing else.

The good ones are the Franklins,(not AGS system) depending of the weather you have diferent colors. we have made group buys to the US, and everytime someone goes we try to get more of them, balls came on go, they get lost and they break in winter, so we always need more.

so... what you want?? star playing to see if you like it, or you want to do it proper.
if you wnat to star, take the any of the links you have post. Proper, star a group buy, I'm sure a lot of people around UK will want some too, the more you order the cheaper it gets

PM Chukker Norris and ask him for the details of the place where he got the last ones, they work out a £3 each
I hope this help you a bit

  • You can not buy polo balls, you grow polo balls...

(although you can buy street hockey balls in the states which is what everyone uses...)

  • if you know what to do, why you dont grow some?

  • Knowledge and action are unfortunatly not the same thing...

  • actually these http://demonxtreme.com/product.php?xProd=487 do say:

"For anyone who is unsure, these are the correct balls that BiSHA and the IISHF play with. There are some lighter ones out there, don't be fooled. Look for the logo as you see it in the photo."

maybe worth getting some to see?

  • completly up to you, you can not tell you if there are good or not until you play with them... take the risk, order 2 and we will see.

last time we order to the US we pay £3 per ball, good ones....

  • I emailed the guy about the Franklins.

This is fucking ridiculous. We need to get a steady supply of Franklins. I think Mike and some other people have contacted Franklin. Did anyone ever get anywhere with them? Does anyone have a company that we can use to try to become a Franklin supplier?

  • Matt, where did you got the last ones?

  • Some dude who was a supplier (and he shipped them as a gift). I emailed him again but I think he is not doing it anymore.

  • Thanks a mil guys for all the suggestions. Looks like were either gonna go with the dutch lads or else get someone to hit up a contact in the states for the franklin ones.

My sis is moving to London shortly so hopefully i'll get to play with some of ye if i get to head over

  • if you get any franklin, please let us now, we could be interested here in London.
    Paypal, Royal Mail....

  • hey pothole surfer, im off to new york tomorrow and am gonna pick up some franklins for the Manchester polo lot so if you want me to get you any send me a PM, same with anyone else

  • i have ordered from the dutch site, pretty cheap 2,55 in euro

  • I'm gonna need to get a couple, anyone wanna go in with me?
For hours of solitary practise or maybe I'll just sell my soul to the bike polo Devil? Haven't decided which yet...

  • joe i know a good place to practice near us. i let you know.

  • Sweet, you can be Yoda and I'll be Luke...

  • awesome that means you can carry me on your shoulders while you trackstand

  • Rumour denied apparently.
I wouldn't mind a couple for beginners polo. Where do we get them from over here?
