  • Non-polo peeps get them for a tenner... ;P

  • Got a pair of these gloves from Joe. They're pretty great. Bill made contact directly with the top of my hand and I felt no pain. I'd recommend them.

I'll keep my sniper gloves for regular riding, I suppose, and these for poloing.

  • I have just been given a pair of these to try at polo:

I have been speaking to the lovely James at http://www.wearepaintball.com/ after they were mentioned (in this thread?) and people thought the plastic my not be strong enough.

They feel pretty robust and the plastic whilst fairly soft, is raised a bit away from the hand which will cushion the blow. The underside has a bit of padding but free room to grip.

They're a bargainous £8.41 with P&P from ebay here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270443131312 so could be a cheap option.

I'll bring them to Souths next week if anyone wants to try them.

  • Having been using these for a week I can't recommend them highly enough.

During yesterday's fixture I didn't even notice I had them on, this is exactly the feature I look for in any glove. The fact that they offer so much protection on top of feeling like you're not wearing them is perfect.

Plus they look ridiculous so they suit me perfectly.

  • Can someone make me a sew on patch that says "wanker" so that I can cover up the warrior logo?

  • What are these and what are they made of? I need some new ones seeing as my hands are bursting out of my current ones..

  • sweeeeet.

  • They are sweet, but wouldn't fit your girly hands, Matt.

  • Nor yours James... (this statement is in no way related to me wanting a pair...)

  • Don't worry Louis - from what I can tell, they have a 'cowhide construction'.

  • shock are you one of them vegan types? shock

  • They are most definitely made of cow.

    (The lacrosse gloves aren't though)

  • Awesome does that mean I can eat them too?

  • Noowhere near as obstructivly big as i thought they were going to be, thoguht they looked massive
    could be the way forward

  • they will also help you cut down on smoking. Ems now on 37 and half a day.

  • I just bought some Ironclad cold conditions gloves for my winter polo gloves after my 661 gloves fell apart after one fall.

Hopefully these will stand up a bit better (and keep my fingers toasty).

    berghaus - £15
    enduras - £18

    ouch...DUMBO!

    (basically what not to buy)

  • REVIEW: Ironclad cold conditions digital camo

This is just my initial thoughts after having them delivered, I'll post a full review after riding with them and playing a few games.

    Features:
    wind & water repellent
    high abrasion resistance
    micro fleece insulation
popper thing on the wrist collar to connect them together
pull tab to help get them on

    First thoughts:
The gloves fit pretty snugly, maybe I should have sized up or maybe they are just a bit stiff at the moment. They feel well made and pretty damn tough, I think they should be able to survive a good few spills on to tarmac. Holding handlebars is a bit of a strain at the moment due to the stiffness, I'm hoping that they will soften up a bit and become more flexible but I'm pretty sure this will happen as they are designed for using when operating tools. The fingers have rubbery 'high grip' sections and the palms are 'medium grip' and slightly padded, I bought these for general winter riding and polo use and I think they should perform well in both situations, at the moment I'd say they were £26 well spent.

  • But they offer no real protection fo you at all?

  • Absolutely no knuckle protection what so ever but nor did my old gloves (or the ones before them) I just wanted some tough gloves which would keep my hands warm as my fingers always get super cold.

  • for £26 though, id have gone with some knuckle protection.

I did an order with Chainreaction this morning, so should be Carbon Knuckled to the hilt (ala Gabes) soon

  • My fingers turn to ice instantly as soon as I step outside at the moment which isn't fun and considering my knuckles are yet to get properly (or even a little bit) damaged from polo I'm happy with no knuckle protection. Obviously I'd prefer a glove which was warm and protective but I couldn't find any.
