what are people doing bike bag wise flying? I think i rememeber Sarah sugesting those pack away ones from decathalon....would anyone have one i could borrow* or does anyone see any advantage in paying for a bike bag rather than a washing bag and padding the frame?
*obviously any damage and it would be replaced.

I invested in a good secondhand one from eBay as i'm gonna have a few trips w/bikes in the next couple of months.. Not sure if i'd trust a laundry bag to take the abuse luggage handlers might give it....
and FYI if you (or anyone) are planning to take the train from the airport into Amsterdam, carry you bike in the bag all the way, otherwise you have to buy an extra 7 euro-ish ticket for taking your bike on the train as well as your own ticket...

Cheers for the heads up on the train Adam.
When i went to america i took a medium padded one and still put my frame in insulation tubing but i got lifts from both ends. this time im hoping to ride to paddington on the way out and ride home from vauxhall on the way in, plus seems as i'm staying at the curtosy of locals when i arrive it would be nice not to take up too much room. I know some of the BAD lot used the thin ones going to Philly and it was fine for them so i think im just going to go with insulation tubing and thin bag but question is does anyonehave one they could lend us?

aidan if you go to decathlon you can also get these funny foam pads for the bike travel ( to go inside your baqg if it's too thin), they attach to your frame and protect the tubing on both sides, and not too bulky when folded too, have a look on their website though first

Ok... Starting to actually think about NYE itself, who's about in Amsterdam for it? (obv Tom, B & Object) and has anyone made any plans for the night?
I've got other non-polo LFGSS friends over, plus my brothers friends, just trying to get an idea of where people are thinking of being that night...
