Thanks to VinylVillain for posting entire American Flyers movie. Just watched it and was great to see Mount Evans at the end. I rode it a week ago on Friday and it is an amazing climb.

Where they finished in the film is now only halfway from where we started. After that is another 14 mile climb. 29 miles climb and 8000 ft in elevation in total.

It certainly puts the North Downs, Surrey Hills and the Ditchling into perspective.

The best piece of acting in that film is done by the dead rat on Costner's upper lip. It was nominated for the Oscar (best Rat-tor in a shit film) - not too sure if it won though.
