Decent fixed shop in Chicago?

Posted on
  • I know it's random, but does anyone know of a shop that sells fixed bits and pieces in Chicago??
My GF's going and i thought it'd b an opportunity to get some cheap(er) stuff...

  • spent some time over there in july. the best shop i found by far was yojimbos garage. such a nice guy and an amazing selection of stuff, anything you want he has.

hopefully moving out there in january.

  • nice one bro, i did a little search on chicago fixed gear.com and came up with the same shop.
do u reckon i can get phils/chris king etc cheaper over there than here?

  • when i looked into it yeah they were cheaper. exchange rate is a bit off now though.

he has phils in all drillings and any colour you want.

  • cheers dude!

  • but the cost of travel is only interesting if the purpose of the trip to chicago was too buy cheaper bike parts. If they're being bought while on the trip for the trips sake. Then that point is moot.

  • sorry to bring up a old thread but iam going to chicago in a few days and just wondering is there any other shops i should know about? and are they much cheaper?thanks

  • When I was on the hunt for shops, I only found yojimbos garage, and the prices were almost the exact same as England... Maybe things have changed this past year, but I doubt it.

  • yea foubnd there site its bad is the shop well stocked?

  • No idea mate, My girlfriend was going to Chicago on business. I called the shop to see what there prices were like, they seemed very similar to England, so I told my GF not to bother going there.
Sorry I can't be of more help.

  • no problem cheers any way ,il let you know how it goes
