I think every company should let you know who they use as a carrier. Some carriers are awful and I have abandoned using some companies because of things simply never arriving.

Wiggle use City link (or did in my case).
They emailed me to say that as I was not in they would have to redeliver my package- which is slightly annoying as I was in at the time, waiting for the delivery.
I find this annoying.

City link do this all the time. Other half was left without a number of (important, Christmas) parcels from Amazon on Christmas Eve, rang up shitty link and the guy on the other end admitted that if they run out of time they say you weren't in.

That's annoying.
All carriers are shit, mostly.
Although only when you are waiting in for something you really need.I had 3 separate orders all done (i thought) in a time so that stuff would eventually turn up next week, but strangely it all arrived on christmas eve, cyclebasket were mad, literally overnight.
But I bet had I needed the stuff for christmas presents or whatever, it wouldn't have arrived.

Yeah I've often seen couriers/Royal Mail put a card straight through the letterbox and not even ring the doorbell, so I now leave a note on the door saying I'm in, and lights on curtains open etc. I usually pick the item up from the depot if I miss the delivery, as redeliveries often goes wrong as well.

When i ran my own business, we used to order stuff all the time, one supplier used ANC and eventually I asked them not to because of their continual failure, we used to pay extra for before 12 delivery and when it turned up at 12.45 I would make sure I wrote it on the receipt (cue shirty delivery man) and claim my money back. I swear 20% of our time per week was spent chasing problems with orders and deliveries.

ANC are fucking awful. My Postcode begins SE22.... They were trying to deliver to a flat in Brent.
Fucking idiots. The London postcode system is understood by primates. It really wound me up.

they shud have a image of the signature on a database.
This happened to me once with a £100 item ! Little did i know, that it had been delivered to next door, who as it happens decide to go on holiday therafter for 2 weeks ! the signature was unreadable useless squiggle, so was no use.
The company were in this instance in conversation with Parcel Force in regards to compensation which nearly wet through, when next door came back from holiday and let me know they had it all the while.
So yea, check your neighbours.

tip with courier companies is to keep hitting 9 or 0 and you often get through to a human.
the humans that man the phones at courier companies are often more useless than the automated system though.
Does anyone know what carrier they are using currently? I think I may have had some post stolen, and I'm trying to work out where it would have come from? I have a card from City Link which when entering the tracking reference just tells me that the parcel was signed for and delivered. Their 'helpline' is automated and is of no help at all....in fact in this instance, 'helpline' may as well be 'hinderence line'
Bah...
