  • White/antracite, NR Pista? That is a nice one.

Is it a red one that was sold on marktplaats yesterday?

  • White/antracite, NR Pista? That is a nice one.

    Correction, silver/antracite

  • yeah its the silver/antracite one

  • Okay, great. I spotted it live, because I know fellow SAAB-afficiado Simon quite well. I learnt the bike used to belong to 'Rini Boogerd'

I also had the oppertunity to take a look at the other stuff Simon offered, with among it 3 Zielemans of which one very rare track example. I bought a Campagnolo 50th anniversary groupset from him for one of my classic projects. Put some pics up Fruit.

  • here's my gazelle.
its mean like a mean thing

Bling-bling! NOS? What's it going on?

  • thats a stunner looks in great nick and has some nice parts

  • @zieleman are the zieleman bikes anything to do with your family name ? or is it just a coincidence ?

  • @zieleman are the zieleman bikes anything to do with your family name ? or is it just a coincidence ?

Zieleman is not my family name. I named my forum name after the Zieleman bike, as at the time I subcribed I were busy and complety involved with restoring/building a Zieleman (the black Type Special above)

  • Bling-bling! NOS? What's it going on?

No, not NOS and not complete, but I already had some of the parts. I initially planned to put them on a Gazelle lo pro, but I decided for a more aerodynamic C-Record/Chorus mix instead. Alternatively for example above red/yellow Batavus Professional could be an option for the 50th. It is of 84/85, so pretty much accurate. I could also bolt them on a Japanese/Dutch Koga-Miyata FullPro. This will give a very interesting combination, as Dura Ace EX is of course the common spec for this bike. Miyata US did have the Team Miyata SL model with Super Record in the early 80s, but in Europe Koga was also Shimano importer, so always Shimano.

Btw I know a guy who has two(!) of this cases and a 3rd(!!) recently built on his Gios. Personally I do not see the point of have such a NOS gruppo fitted in a case, as it would be pretty much useless laying around here.

  • it looks like this now, want some black bartape on it.
Dont really like the paintjob that much but it was done very well, took out the yellow tubwheels.
the bike was bought from Rini but it belonged to michael Boogerd

  • are the modern gazelles as good a quality as the 1980's bikes ?

seems like it is easier to pick up a modern gazelle track than an 80's one

  • it is an 80's one, but the gazelle factory repainted it, just silver with old style stickers would have been much nicer, but the sparkly silver is pretty nice irl

  • I see you also took off most of the NR Pista parts. Do you like the current better? I advised Simon to take the NR Pista off and put them on his Zieleman - he prefered to keep the Zieleman, but that one had some mediocre parts imo. He wouldn't want to go through the hassle.

  • Here a pic of my old Gazelle baan >>>

    On Jan's site

  • gonna use the NR wheels for the colnago when/if we ever gonna make it to the track and i polished the nr cranks, will sell them or put them on my other gazelle (the blue ralph elshof, pretty similair to your white one)

  • Couple weeks ago I put the 1994 race catalogue on the scanner. Full catalogue can be viewed on Jan's site (Gazelle Pages). The catalogue included this 'Tijdrit-Frame' >>>

Full 531C, Campa dropouts, indented seat tube to make room rear tyre, choice of for 26'' or for 28'' front wheel and choice of for road or for track. Frame pictured has, unlike with dicki's frame, no monostay.

I have a frame pretty much like this, but using 653 tubing. The seat tube is not indented and connection of the rear drop outs is done differently, using a kind of sleeve method looks like. Seen with more Gazelle 653 frames.

  • item no. 110474041456

    lovely

  • just posted two nice gazelle trackframes in the ebaythread

  • Okay, I see. p429, posts 21407 and 08

The 1st is located in Belgium, the 2nd is offered by a quite well known Dutch collector.

    thats nice.

  • yearning for the 1st ride - another Batavus story

Within now and an half our it will be the 1st time out for me on this gem. In the snow. The bike has been collected by me recently. It was the crossbike of ex-team Batavus rider Egbert Koersen. Drivetrain is full Dura Ace with the exception of Suntour VX rear mech with 1st generation Tacx jockey wheels - the ones without teeth. Brakepower is delivered by MAFAC through DA levers. Tape is white cotton dipped into shellac. To me it looks like that this bike has still pretty much its original specs.

Frame: Full 531 tubing, Bocama lugs, Zeus 2000 crown and Campagnolo dropouts. More on it here >>>

  • how did it go in the snow?
