cheers for all the input, i think andyp sums up how i feel.
i do like the look of the hinde frame, but would like to see some reviews of the bike, t see if it as good as the self created hype, and i nerly bought about a grands worth of stuff from them last year but their reputation is so terrible i thought i'd spend a few extra quid for a bit of peace of mind, so that would deffo put me off but i would have thought that someone else will try to get a bunch of them so i can use someone who is a reputable dealer.

I ride the Planet X Carbon Stealth Track bike. It was given you me as I'm sponsored tho I would happy buy one if I was not sponsored.
I've ridden various track bikes over the years. Custom built Reynolds 653, Columbus SLX Steel, 531, Specialized S-Works and more... The PX track frame is a top notch. I'm riding at Elite level and competing internationally (currently out in Oz for the UCI World Masters Track Champs) and the frame has not let me down.
In my travels I've seen the frame rebadge by other brands. I've also seen riders from many different county ride the Planet X (French, Italian, Australian, etc).
Not a bad advertisement for a "cheap knock off brand"???

Oh but adman, it doesn't have some Italian name scrawled down the side, they must be inferior..

after seeing all the horrendous carbon fibre bikes over the weekend at the cycle show i would plump for a nice bit of aluminium
unless there is some classicly styled nice track bike in carbon fibre
colnago c50 i think is nice looking carbonnice

Dec 5Dear Steve
the C50 pista is no longer in production, stock was never held by Colnago, so regretfully I cannot offer one in any finish, the onl pista now is the alloy fully built pista at 1256 euros inc vat at current 15%

Cyclefit can order custom Colnago frames at £650 above thier standard prices. Don't know if this extends to getting track ends put on but it would be worth a shot it you really want one.
Another few options you might want to think about around those prices are a Parlee or Viner

Do you want it for track racing or posing?
Ben the chap who I take my bikes for repairs etc, had some nice De Rosa frames, not sure if he still has them, but I expect you want an ickle frame Ed? 49cm?
