Snap- I had a Cannondale 1FG that was orignally polished alluminium that was then lacquered.
The previous owner had had it painted black- and the company that painted it had given it a light grit blasting to give the paint something to key/stick to.
When I started Nitromorsing the frame I was hoping to see a nice shiny surface- instead it was a pitted surface with lots of the black paint still held onto by the metal of the frame.
Strip the paint off and take the frame to the same place that Graham and I have used- cannot remember the name from the top of my head but look for Pistanators thread on polishing a frame.
