The frame was raced by Marcel Duijn when the bosses were moved to their later and current position. Koga did it for him. It was done to make frame ready for use with STI (at some later point GripShift SRT800 units were installed on a Speedliner). I do not know why they meant that it had to be done, as I have here an ErgoPower Gazelle lo pro with the STI adjusters simply mounted on an adapter piece on top the single downtube boss. Only reason that I can think of is that Marcel or Koga prefered a neat look on a bike that gets in the spotlights, so with STI adjusters on the logical place and no adapter.
