get a singular peregrine... mine was fun this morning in the snow!
and no- depending on your local trails of course you probably don't need any bouncyness - 29er tyres have a shit load of air in them and give you a great cushy ride - if you want to get rid of trail buzz get a carbon fork
p.s my other mtb is a ti 69er with carbon forks and it's been round most of the 7stanes rigid (tbh not fun some of the time) so you can most likely ride any XC trail rigid

also look at the singular swift/griffin/pegasus - all brilliant 29ers (i've 'raced' on them all)
