Fork crown race too big

in your case the powdercoating is the problem, clean off the paint and it should fit

Ahhh, I hadn't thought about that, good point. But I wonder why the race from the older holdsworth headset fits?

I think I'll start by removing the paint and see if that sorts it, much easier than trying to source a 27mm race or having the fork milled. Thanks!
