As I'm getting shitty with the winter drivers on the roads, I'm thinking of building myself up a fixed/SS 29er and disappearing into the woods. However, at the risk of subjecting myself to the wrath of the community, I'm looking for some decent info as I know fuck all. Yes, I've UTFS, read 63xc, and googled etc, but there's not much for the first time builder. I know there's a few of you out there riding them & I would love your help/guidance/opinions... abuse etc.
For an intro, how do you rate the slot dropout inbred, One-one frame? I won't be caining it too much for the moment, just weekends and small expeditions so no need for a Gary Fisher.
Hardtails Vs full suspension or just a squishy fork on the front?
Vertical Vs horizontal dops with tugs?
Anyone with frames for sale or www's (apart from here of course) where I can find second handy bits?
